Slang 2/3 - Newsletter

If you want to receive my newsletters for free, subscribe here

Second email of the "Spanish slang" series.

Today we learn how Spaniards start a sentence in a natural way and how they ask a clarifying question. If you prefer to watch it in a video, you have it here:

3  ways to request corroboration

1. ¿No? - isn't it?

Tú quieres pescado, ¿no?

You want some fish, isn't it?

2. ¿A que sí? - right?

Vamos a ir hoy al cine, ¿a que sí?

We're going to the cinema today, right?

3. ¿No crees? - Don't you think so?

Ya has comido suficiente, ¿no crees?

You've eaten enough, don't you think so?

📣 Review last week's words!

💭 Do you remember the 10 words we learnt last week? Check them out here!

➡️ Why this reminder? Because repetition is essential when learning languages. You did an amazing job last week reading and understanding 10 words, but if you don't reviese, you will never be able to use them when you talk!

2 starting words

1. Pues... - So... (or no translation at all)

Pues no sé qué decir.

I don't know what to say.

2. Entonces - So...

Entonces, ¿vamos a la playa o a la piscina?

So... we go to the beach or to the pool?

Equivale a nuestro "pues" o "entonces".
